Pocas Pascoal |
Portugal, Angola / 2024 / 0:05:00 |
Angolan director and screenwriter Pocas Pascoal reminds us that it’s time for a change, proposing through this film a look at colonialism, capitalism, and their impact on global biodiversity. We observe that the destruction of the ecosystem goes back a long way and is already underway through land exploitation, big game hunting, and the exploitation of man by man.

Fairouz Hasan, a Palestinian filmmaker, embarks on an intimate journey to the heart of her memory via the letters she exchanged with her father, who was detained for years in Israeli prisons. Through the images, we watch the unfolding of the emotional and affective impact of this absence, and feel the psychological and political effects of imprisonment.

Gregor Bozic |
Slovenia / 2025 0.15:00 |
In a not-too-distant future ravaged by climate crisis, a team of scientists analyse the archival footage of farmers from the past, in an attempt to understand their connection to the land. In this beautifully shot blend of documentary and fiction, Gregor Bozic pays warm tribute to the old growers of the Goriška region in Western Slovenia, who appreciated fruit as more than merely a product for sale.

State of Palestine / 2024 / 0:30:10 |
Taking the Labyrinth as main historical inspiration, the film connects mythology to a present socio-political reality in Palestine. Filmed in particular ancient sites in Palestine—caves, carved holes, underground passages, and wild valleys—the land becomes our main character. The work traverses beyond the first layer of visibility, and reveals a vast, hidden world similar to the one we know, pointing to what was lost, forgotten, or unsaid. The film expands a sense of historical loss while creating a space for the past to recur; not merely to go back to the facts, but to further open the imaginary gaps. Hazy scenes combine gestures of the ancient world related to goddesses, caves, and offerings, with ritualistic performances of the community and everyday gestures. It emphasizes, therefore, the role of collective rhythmic movement and the potential impact that shared feelings can evoke in creating and sustaining a community.

The Disappearance of Time

Andrea Hackl |
Austria, France, Netherlands / 2025 / 0:10:30 |
"The Disappearance of Time" is a testament to the cyclical dance of life – of disappearance and becoming. Death giving way to birth, life and death intertwined. The film speaks of the quiet resilience of the earth and our role as stewards of her future; the threads of her history woven into our very being and our story profoundly connected with her. Each grain of dust, each drop of water, telling a story of loss and rebirth, echoing the human experience. Landscapes that once seemed eternal, fading, disappearing, with ever increasing speed, due to climate change and human impact. Glaciers melting. Their presence witness to an ancient time’s passage. "The Disappearance of Time" is an invitation to embrace our place within the timeless dance of life, echoing the truth that in every ending lies the promise of a new beginning. Ultimately, it is a meditation on hope and that which survives beyond what we call death. ll be okay.”
